It was pretty hot up in Som’s office when we talked about how to burn maximum calories in minimum time, which is why I took my coat off.
Som was also a few minutes late since he runs on Indian Time, which we say that as a sort of joke between the two of us since he is always about ten to twenty minutes behind a schedule. But that’s what makes it funny is that since because India is on the other side of the world it kind of explains why he would be late if he is always looking at what time it is over in India and going off of that instead of whatever time it is here in America. Now I don’t want to explain the joke too much because then it might lose some of its hilarity.
So let’s talk about How to Burn Maximum Calories in Minimum time.
TL;DR (The “Too Long; Didn’t Read” Version)
- Kettlebell complexes. Do them.
- Also, focus on building limit strength. The stronger you are the more effective all your other workouts will be. (Imagine doing a complex with 2 x 24kg; rather than 2 x 16kg. Who will get the better workout?)
- Consider “density” sets and “single exercise workouts.” (5 minute snatch test, 300 swings, etc.) In other words, not everything has to be a complex, or a circuit.
- Think not only the condition of your workout, but what condition you are in when working out. For example, fasting can be a “force multiplier.” So can ketosis.
