I recently signed another book deal which has put me under a six month contract to produce my life’s greatest work. I’m excited to tell you about it.
My new book, which I can’t say what the title is, yet, because that’s still under works, is about becoming an expert-generalist, or someone who is better than most people, at most things.
The argument I make in the book is you are better off being good or at least fairly competent across a wide array of abilities, and learning to “stack” those abilities, than you are going for enormous depth in any one, specific direction.
Jack of All Trades > Master of Only One, in other words.
This is true creatively, competitively, as it is in fitness, and in business.
From there, I provide a method for getting better at anything that interests you by using the same principles you would in the weight room: Repetition and Resistance.
This is the most fun part of the book, because I give exercises and “workout plans” for improving your writing, fitness, creativity, musicianship, business chops, and all other things you may be interested in, or already doing, through a simple, effective practice model. “Do reps, add weight.”
The last part of the book is teaching you how to combine your various skills in such a way to gain both a competitive and creative advantage. Think of being a fitness person who can also write and design their own website, or a musician who understands how to market themselves. That’s what I’m getting at.
This is not a fitness book, but it does have a lot of fitness in it. This is not a business book, but it does have a lot of talk about how to start one.
This is a book on upgrading your entire person-hood–for getting good at things, and enjoying the process of being creative and fit, while becoming infinitely more interesting and amazing.
I promise: You are going to love it.
And just one other thing…
Book Launch Team
This is the book I’ve always wanted to write, and the possibility has only come about because of all the support I’ve received from you.
To this end, I would love for you to be involved in the process.
So I’m talking to the publisher about them letting me assemble a “book launch team.” What I want is to have a group of people (preferably you) be a part of the development and launch of this book.
People I can bounce ideas off of, get feedback from, and who will help me to spread the word when the time comes.
This would not only get you a sneak peek at the book, but give you a behind-the-scenes look at how to write, launch, and market a book–if that is ever something you would be interested in.
You would essentially be a part of my strategic team. Also, I will likely be looking for people to feature IN the book, in some way. So, that could be fun.
Anyway, all of this is mere speculation at this point, but wanted to put it out there, with hopes you might be interested. More soon.
And thanks for everything,
