Pat has truly begun to turn from mere fitness professional to going far above and beyond those boundaries into the realm of life coach. I’ve known Pat for many years, and one thing I always took away from his lessons is that good science is repeatable, which is what this book represents. Really looking forward to this!
Pat Flynn says
Means a lot, Pete. Thank you!

Ken,
I think you’re going to like this one. That said, I’d probably be the last person in the world to suggest otherwise!

Finally! So glad to see you releasing a book Pat. I’ve enjoyed your podcasts for some time now and while it’s cool to access them, it’s even cooler to have a book that centralizes the best of the best, providing me with quick access to your insights and wisdom. Your views on becoming a more successful person through becoming a generalist has really opened my eyes to the vast potential people have when they apply themselves as generalists. I’ve lived the generalist life to a certain extent, but was always concerned I was just the proverbial “jack of all trades, master of none.” However, as you’ve pointed out in various blogs, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I think what your generalist principles and focus on self-directed learning has helped take me to the next level. I’m also intrigued by your list of must-have skills and your skill-stacking system. Bottom line, your book is going to be a great blessing, just as your podcasts have been. One last thing Pat, you may not be the best at what you do, but never forget that you also put in hard work. I know talented people with no drive who either skate or sadly, don’t do anything with their talents. The Biblical principle of using your talents and being accountable for them is something that motivates me, and I have a feeling it motivates you too. Congratulations on your upcoming book and I cannot wait to check it out. In closing—it’s about time!

Congratulations on your book release. Sounds like you’re putting a lot of work into promoting it. If it’s anything like your web content (which it is), it’s going to be great.
Pat Flynn says
I appreciate that, Ryan. Thank you.

Hi Pat. Is your new book something women can relate to also? I’ve been hearing bits and pieces about generalism over the last few years and I’m curious about it. I’m always looking for ways to improve myself whether it’s personal growth or making myself more marketable. By the way, your promotion link doesn’t work for me.
Pat Flynn says
Oh, absolutely. This book is for anybody who’s interested in gaining freedom for excellence. There’s certainly a strong applicability here for business owners, but the book is really beyond that. I talk a lot about virtues, the skill of developing skill, and how to combine interests to become even more creative. Thanks for letting me know about the link – there was a slight typo. Should work now : )
