People often say many things about exercise, but one thing we can be certain of is this. You don’t need to overthink a program to make progress. You just need to stick to the basics. Lift heavy some of the time, and walk as often as you can. (A few sprints in between can also help.) Keep what you eat in check by limiting that which is of little nutrition value, and lower calories through intermittent fasting. Pamper your joints by moving regularly in light and rhythmical ways. If you sit a lot, stand up a lot. And remember: Exercise doesn’t have to be done all at once. Incorporate movement throughout the day. Finally, have fun. Find things you enjoy that are physical. Video games are fun, but so is soccer. Tennis? OK, bocce ball.
